Coffee Stains & Leftover Pancakes
For my ten-week long Photojournalism class, I chose to photograph a local cafe called Sabrina's. The cafe was always a cozy, enjoyable place to eat therefore a perfectly suitable place to hang out for ten weeks. Over the course of the term I got to know the staff at their three locations within the city of Philadelphia. They were so warm and welcoming to me and as I learned more about their story I was more encouraged to tell it. I had no desire of making the images look glamorous, I simply wanted them to be real because that is what Sabrina's and their staff are. Each location of Sabrina's is so unique and holds its' own. The cafe also attracts such an eclectic group of people within the city making it a very fulfilling place to photograph. I still enjoy returning often to enjoy a hearty breakfast.
This project was photographed using a Hasselblad and 120 black and white film.
